Counseling

College is a time of great exploration and adventure, but sometimes changes bring anxiety and you need someone to talk to. Whether it's about questions of faith or problems with your roommate, your chaplains are available for counseling, advice, or just to lend an ear.

You can set up a time to meet or just drop by the Kay Center when you're free. To set up a time to meet, call Mark Schaefer at (202) 885-3304 or drop him an e-mail at schaef@american.edu. In an emergency, contact Mark on his cell phone at (202) 486-6061. If you wish to meet with one of the other chaplains, call Christine Gettings at (202) 885-3321 or call the part-time chaplains' office at (202) 885-3329.

The AU United Methodist-Protestant Community is an open and ecumenical fellowship for all students, faculty, and staff regardless of age, race, gender, ability, sexual orientation, denomination, or religious background.
