Tree Planting, April 2005
As part of our "The Othe Six Days" social justice program, we participated in a tree planing out at Beaver Creek, Maryland, on the Antietam watershed.

This was the beautiful pastoral locale where we would plant the trees.

The little pink and green flags indicate where the shrubs and trees are to be planted.

There was a family of geese nearby, taking an interest in our work. You can see the nest in the center.

After the trees are planted, a plastic tube is placed around them to protect the young trees from hungry animals.

Erica, Lindsey, Jason, and Laura

The only way to get across the stream to plant on the other shore is through it (as Lindsey discovers)

The whole gang at the end of the day.
