Bible Study
The AU United Methodist Community sponsors a number of Bible studies
and opportunities for reflection. We have studies that are for the purpose
of devotion and for the purpose of in-depth study.
Bible Studies include in-depth explorations of particular biblical books (such as the Book of Revelation) and studies that follow the weekly lectionary readings. There are also study groups for those willing to expand their horizons--our Jewish-Christian Interfaith Study Group co-sponsored by the AU Hillel Foundation is a popular group for interfaith dialogue and discussion.
Current Bible Study groups (Fall 2006) are:
Baptist Fellowship Bible Study, Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m., Kay Lounge (for more info, click here)
Episcopal Ministry Bible Study, Tuesdays 6:30 p.m., Kay Lounge (for more info, click here)
Devotional Bible Study, Tuesdays, 7 p.m., Kay Lower Level
A student-led study focusing on giving over our burdens to God. A great way to cope with issues of stress and anxiety and a much needed break.
Great Stories of the Bible, Thursdays, 7:00 p.m., Chaplain's Office
Refamiliarize yourself with (or learn for the first time) the great stories of the Bible. From Adam and Eve to Noah's Ark to Joseph to the Exodus, David and Goliath, we'll cover them all in this look at the great stories in the tradition that have shaped our understanding of God and of each other. Everyone is welcome to attend. You can jump in any time.
