Join the United Methodist Student Association (UMSA) and Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship as we share in some ice cream on the Kay steps and then meet downstairs in the Kay Lounge for a game night.

Join the interfaith community at Kay for some fun and games getting to know different things about the Kay Spiritual Life Center.
Tuesday, August 23 — Monthly Movie with the Methodists, 10:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m., Gianni Lounge (Mary Graydon 200)
Join the UM-Protestant Community for our monthly movie night as we watch The Adjustment Bureau. Free snacks and refreshments will be provided. Hang around afterwards to talk about the movie or just meet new people
Wednesday, August 24 — Kay Interfaith Event—Cupcakes on the Quad, 8:30 p.m., Main Quad
Join the interfaith community as we provide cupcakes as a snack in honor of our own “flaming cupcake” the Kay Spiritual Life Center.
Thursday, August 25 — Pancake Supper, 10:00 p.m., Kay Lounge
Join us for a pancake supper, co-sponsored by AU Chi Alpha and The Gathering.
Thursday, August 25 — Communion & Prayer Service, 11:00 p.m., Kay Chapel
Every Thursday night our community offers a contemplative service of communion, reflection, and intercessory prayer. During the school year it’s a great break during the middle of the week.
At S'mores with s'Methodists
Friday, August 26 — S’mores with s’Methodists, 11:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m., Kay Steps
Cap off your first week at AU by joining us for some s’mores in front of the Kay Chapel.
Saturday, August 27 — Outing to the National Zoo, 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., leave from Kay
We’ll meet at Kay and then shuttle/Metro over to the National Zoo. So bring a camera and some good walking shoes!
Saturday, August 27 — Nighttime Tour of the Monuments, 10:00 p.m.-12:00 midnight, leave from Kay CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Join us on a nighttime walk around the Monuments. We’ll leave in vans from AU and drive to the Tidal Basin, seeing the Jefferson, FDR, Washington, and Lincoln memorials.
Sunday, August 28 — Sunday Worship, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Kay Chapel
Join us for our informal-traditional Sunday night worship in the Kay Chapel, held every Sunday at 7 p.m. and get to meet all the members of the community. Stay around afterwards for fellowship and snacks.
Wednesday, August 31 — Interfaith Beach Party, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Quad in front of Kay
Come to the quad in front of Kay for an interfaith beach party with food, snacks, volleyball, and a dip in the pool.
Saturday, September 3 — Hike in the Rock Creek Park, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Depart from Kay Chapel
Join the UMSA for a hike at the beautiful Rock Creek Park. & Bring a picnic lunch, a camera, and your hiking shoes.
Thursday, September 15, — Feed the Quad, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Our annual free cookout on the quad. We give away over 400 burgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs to anyone who comes on by.
Friday, September 16 to Saturday, September 17 — Community Retreat in the Shenandoah
Our annual fall retreat in Virginia, in the mountains of the Shenandoah, at the cabin of the University Chaplain. Get away from campus for a bit, enjoy the beautiful countryside, and take some time to reflect with other members of the community.
