Special Services

Membership
The United Methodist Chaplaincy is able to help those who wish to enter into Christian faith or into membership in the United Methodist Church.

Those feeling a call toward Christian discipleship and membership in the church can arrange to meet with the chaplain and be baptized into the church. Those who are interested in becoming members of the United Methodist Church can join the church through the AU United Methodist Chaplaincy.

Weddings
American University makes the Kay Chapel available for weddings of students, faculty, and staff. Preparation for United Methodist marriage requires pre-marital counseling with the United Methodist Chaplain (or the appropriate affiliate chaplain for other denominational services). In order to reserve the Kay Chapel, Christine Gettings should be contacted at (202) 885-3321, and the chaplain should be contacted no less than six months before the intended wedding date.
