UM Cross & Flame American University United Methodist Community

Membership

The United Methodist Chaplaincy is able to help those who wish to enter into Christian faith or into membership in the United Methodist Church.

Those feeling a call toward Christian discipleship and membership in the church can arrange to meet with the chaplain and be baptized into the church. Those who are interested in becoming members of the United Methodist Church can join the church through the AU United Methodist Chaplaincy.

If you are interested in registering with our community, click here to add your information. Registering will sign you up for our e-mail announcements. No salesman will visit your home.

Weddings

American University makes the Kay Chapel available for weddings of students, faculty, and staff.

Weddings performed by the Chaplaincy are reserved for members and former members of the AU United Methodist campus ministry community. Weddings for individuals not affiliated with the campus ministry may be booked through the office of the University Chaplain, which may be able to recommend an officiant. In order to reserve the Kay Chapel, Christine Gettings should be contacted at (202) 885-3321. The chapel is not available for reservations during the academic year (August 15—May 15).
